Peter Castaing
Peter E. Castaing recently teamed up with his father and joined the firm in 2020. He brings with him a broad range of legal experience, handling litigation ranging from personal injury matters to administrative actions to defending architects and engineers in complex construction cases. The latter, in particular, has made Peter’s transition into the world of white-collar criminal defense seamless. Over the years, he’s become an ace with systematically breaking down large volumes of evidence to pinpoint those “needle in the haystack” facts his clients need to be absolved of wrongdoing.
In addition to his civil litigation experience, Peter has acted as in-house counsel for a marine surveying company and advised clients in a broad spectrum of contractual matters. He has worked with a wide range of business clients, and in doing so, has become skillful in drafting and analyzing commercial contracts. Peter offers contractual consultation and reviews to all of his business clients.
Peter’s educational background also laid a strong foundation for his current position in the firm. He is a St. Martin’s Episcopal School alum and became a graduate of the University of New Orleans in 2005 with a major in finance. After working a couple of years as an advisor with the Louisiana Road Home Program, Peter attended law school at Loyola University School of Law, graduating in 2011. His financial background gives him a leg up when fighting back against investigations and prosecutions involving a client’s business or financial operations.
Peter and his wife, Carrie, live in the Lakeview area of New Orleans with their three children, ages 7, 5, and 2. Carrie is the owner/operator of The Carriage House of Lakeview, an infant nursery serving Lakeview and the surrounding areas.
